We didn't go far, but we did go away from home for her first away show at the Del Mar International. She was a good girl, scoring a 77.2% on Saturday. By Sunday she was a bit pooped and had nothing left in the tank to keep herself together. At least she tried...

We've started playing with lengthenings, counter canter, lateral work. So far so good. I have to keep in mind she's a big girl..and not quite 4 1/2.

More strength and indeed, Carette rocked the house with an astounding 75.2% on Saturday. She followed up with an encore on Sunday, won over hearts & souls, with a stunning 78.4%. This girl is a superstar!

All I can say is: She's a rock star! Not knowing what to expect, especially with a not-quite-four-year-old-mare at her first show, 4 show arenas, music blaring, warm up insane, and she went in there and did her biz. Didn't look at the horse-eating-fire-breathing aliens in the judge's stand. Not only that, apparently the 20 minute warm up was a bit too much for Miss Courageous and other than being too tired to keep a steady frame, she was great. Won her class with a 68% with a nice comment from the judge "fun horse," and when she can keep her frame steady it will be a 78%.

I currently am riding only 1 horse, a super sales horse named Roadie. I wish all 6 yr olds had the work ethic of this guy. He's going to make someone a very happy FEI horse and rider. He won all 4 of his classes at his last show with 3 scores over 70%. Click HERE to download the latest video of Prince Roadie. It's a cool video.. so worth the download. He's showing talent for half-steps, passage steps, temi changes and everything else required for FEI. This will be a fantastic FEI/YR or Am horse very soon in some one's future. I am here. In San Diego, CA. Don't worry. I'm still riding.

Moving to San Diego a few years ago was a pricey proposition, but I'm glad I did it. Board is expensive. Houses are even more overpriced than the horses. But I love it here.

My beloved Rubicon has been sold and absolutely loves his new life as a fancy hunter. He is trained by Jean McGinnis who has done a great job with him and loves him to pieces. The best part, I still get to see him all the time. Damn I miss those changes.

My old FEI horse, Gruno, I hope, has a good home. He has traded hands a couple of times and I have no idea where he is any more. If you've seen him, please let me know.
